September 22nd. WURST WINE EVENT. 4 to 7pm
We are going to celebrate the end of summer, Bratwurst from Olympic Provisions (one of our favorite sausages around), and six Brat-wurthy wines selected by our friend Michael Alberty from Storyteller Wine Co in SW PDX.
Admission is $15/person and includes one bratwurst and tastes of all six wines. Buy tickets HERE.
BONUS: Storyteller alum, Brianne Day will be pouring her inaugural vintage of Pinot Noir made with Crowley Station fruit. This will be the first public pouring of Brianne’s wine and one of the few times you are able to pre-buy before Brianne formally releases her wine later this fall.
It’s the busiest time of the year for Clay Pigeon and we would like to invite Portland inside the winery to see fall harvest in action! Kicking off September 25th, for four weeks we are opening our winery doors to the public every Wednesday evening from 6-6:30pm so you can see firsthand how grapes are transformed into wine.
Depending on the stage we’re at with the wine making process, you might get to see us processing grapes, starting fermentation, punching down, or pressing the wine. Your tour will also include a taste of the various stages of wine making.
This year, Clay Pigeon is making Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Gris. Come and learn about the decisions Michael faces with each varietal during each phase: destemming and crushing vs whole clusters, yeast selection, length and style of fermentation, and on and on…
Wine Wednesdays are FREE. No reservations necessary, the tours are first come first served for up to 20 people.
